We Promise!
Thank you for being our guest. We want you to browse and shop our stores and catalogs with complete peace of mind, knowing that your privacy is being respected. For this reason, we have instituted policies intended to ensure that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. In addition, rest assured that we have significant security measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.
Hear ye, Hear ye…
By visiting our stores or shopping from our catalogs, you are accepting the practices described below. This Privacy Policy describes the information that we collect about our guests as well as the recipients of communications or purchases that we may be directed to transmit or deliver on behalf of our guests. This Privacy Policy also lays out why we collect such information, how we use it and when and to what extent we may share it with third parties. We know this looks like a long and boring document, but it’s an important overview of how we manage the information that we send and receive. If we change our Privacy Policy, we will let you know by posting the new policy here or by communicating with you by e-mail or postal mail. We will so notify you of such changes before using information in a manner not previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy was last revised on July 09, 2008.
To enhance your shopping experience, our store may include links to other sites. These sites will have their own privacy rules and terms of use that you may wish to review. Angelique Baby has no responsibility for these sites.
How and Why We Gather Information
You provide us with information when you navigate our stores, search for and add products to your shopping cart, and whenever you make a purchase. For example, should you make a purchase, you would provide us with your name, address and phone number, your e-mail address and credit card information. You might also provide names, addresses and phone numbers for those to whom your purchases are to be shipped. Separately, you may also provide us with information when you request to be notified when a product is back in-stock; and when you create, edit or visit any type of gift registry. We store this information and use it to respond to your requests, process your orders and to communicate with you, as well as to improve our store and your experience as our guest.
When you register with us, whether by creating a new account or as part of the process of completing your first purchase from our store, you will be asked to create a user name and choose a password. The information in your account is available to you only if you provide the correct user name and password you earlier created. We store the information you provide during the registration process so that you can quickly access your account and make purchases from our store. Occasionally we may ask for additional information, either at the time of registration or when you participate in a contest, promotion or survey involving Angelique Baby and the Angelique family. Do you have to answer these additional questions? No, absolutely not. While these questions are entirely optional, your responses will help us to provide you with a much better and more personalized experience when you visit our store or hear from us. In addition, depending on the rules that may apply, not answering such questions may also limit your participation in applicable contests or promotions.
Occasionally we hear from you directly. For example, you may communicate with our Customer Care Team by telephone, or e-mail. We also greatly appreciate the suggestions and product reviews that you submit. Finally, we welcome your participation in offline contests, promotions or surveys involving Angelique Baby and the Angelique family. In the course of such activities, in addition to the types of information described above, you may supply us with information that we can use to market and improve our store and to enhance the quality of service we provide to our guests.
We enable our guests to communicate with each other and with other people who they suggest may be interested in our store. These include e-mail messages we send on behalf of our guests, such as invitations to shop a gift registry, product recommendations, “heads up” notices about store features, “e-mail a friend” messages, and the electronic delivery of gift certificates, reminders and other notices. We collect e-mail addresses and other information that may be shared by or about the requestor or recipient of such communications. These communications and the information associated with them help us spread the word about our store, services, contests or promotions.
Finally, we have access to and may collect and analyze certain additional information related to your visits to our stores, purchases from our on-line site and communications with and through us. Examples of the types of data that we collect and analyze include the Internet protocol (IP) address at which you are connected to the Internet and other information about how you got to our stores and from where. In addition, we collect and analyze the use of promotional offers; which offers may be uniquely identifiable as having been delivered to certain persons or made available to specific groups. We may also record and keep track of information such as whether or not you have the capability of receiving e-mail messages in Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) format, the operating system and browser that you employ, and the phone number or e-mail address that you use to contact us. When we send out e-mail messages, we sometimes receive confirmations that let us know that those messages have been delivered or opened.
We may occasionally add to and update the information that we’ve collected with new information from outside sources. For example, we may be notified of changes of address and update our records accordingly before a package winds up going to the wrong place. We also may acquire names and mailing addresses from third parties for targeted postal mailings. In an effort to avoid duplication, we may compare information that we’ve collected, such as e-mail or postal addresses, to information that we may receive from other companies. In addition, we may combine the information that you’ve provided to us with demographic information that is publicly available. We may use such combined information to enhance your experience as our guest, as well as to communicate with you by e-mail or postal mail about our store, services, contests or promotions.
Other Ways We Use Information
We may occasionally send e-mail messages, or other mail to those people whose e-mail or postal address information we’ve collected or received. The recipients of e-mail messages from us may remove themselves from our e-mail list; each e-mail message that we send out includes instructions on how to do so. In addition, if you’d rather not receive e-mail messages, or other mail from us, you can always opt out by changing the preferences in your account. This helps us be sure that we’re only contacting those people who wish to stay up-to-date on our latest news, products, services, contests or promotions. Notwithstanding the above, we will send you e-mail messages confirming your order and shipping information when you make a purchase from our store. We may also need to contact you by phone, postal mail or e-mail if we have a question or otherwise need to communicate with you about your purchase.
Every so often we may include information in an e-mail message about one or more of the companies with which we have a relationship to a group of our own guests and customers. These e-mail messages are a great way for you to find out about other fun places to visit and the products and services that these companies provide. Because we send these e-mail messages to you on their behalf, you don’t have to worry about these companies getting your e-mail address from us.
Sharing Data
Under certain circumstances, we may from time to time share information about our guests on a limited basis with other companies and legal authorities. Here are some examples:
Helpers
There are lots of people working hard to make sure that everything works right from the moment you visit one of our stores to the actual delivery of your purchase to your doorstep and beyond. Some of the links in this amazing chain are other companies and individuals hired by us to perform functions that we can’t do ourselves. Among other things, these agents and vendors help us to fulfill orders, provide customer service, send out mailings, analyze data, provide marketing assistance and process credit card payments. In order to accomplish their duties they may have access to certain information about our guests and customers, but they are forbidden from using it for any other purpose than the task at hand.
Legal Protection
When appropriate or required, we will release information to comply with the law and/or to protect the rights and property of Angelique Baby and the Angelique family, our guests and others. We also reserve the right to share information with legal authorities and other companies for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
